Powin Energy makes industry-leading energy storage systems. The company’s marketing needed to showcase its latest designs before production started, a perfect fit for photo-real rendering.
This is a straight-forward visualization exercise. The Powin engineering team supplied complex manufacturing ready 3D CAD data. To process this, I stripped out unnecessary CAD data, applied new materials, and updated models whenever engineering made major updates. Smaller design opportunities included adding flush door handles throughout the designs. This process provided Power Energy with quick, realistic visuals that its team could put in front of investors or on its website.

Powin’s modular system allows up to 21 storage units (called StackTM) to be managed by one collection segment. This scalability is one of their product’s key differentiators. When rendering these designs, I aimed to properly convey scale, which can sometimes get lost in 3D renders. That’s why the perspective of the StackTM is not from above, but as if you were standing directly in front of it.
